This Privacy Policy describes how Scale-up Allies LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Midstage (“Midstage,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes personal information in connection with our websites, including compass.midstage.ac, our AI skills and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It also describes the rights and choices available to you.

1. Controller and Contact

Scale-up Allies LLC is the controller of personal information processed under this Policy. Questions and requests may be sent to support@midstage.ac.

2. Personal Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide: your email address when you join a waitlist or purchase a subscription; the content you submit to our diagnostic chat, if you use it; and the content of your communications with us.

2.2 Information from third parties: your email address, name and subscription and billing status from Stripe, Inc. when you purchase a subscription; and your GitHub username and account identifier if you sign in with GitHub to a free product. Stripe collects your payment card details directly. We do not receive or store your full card number.

2.3 Information collected automatically: pages visited, links and buttons clicked, device and browser type, IP address and approximate location derived from it, referring page, and advertising campaign parameters; and usage records of our AI skills, such as which skill was used and when.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to: (a) provide the Service and grant access to it; (b) process payments, send receipts, and handle cancellations and refunds; (c) respond to requests and provide support; (d) measure, maintain and improve the Service, our products and our advertising; (e) send you our newsletter, which is included with a paid subscription (you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every issue); (f) prevent fraud and abuse and protect the security of the Service; and (g) comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal Bases (EEA and UK)

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on: performance of a contract, to provide the Service you purchased; our legitimate interests, to operate, secure and improve the Service and to measure our advertising; your consent, where required by law for cookies and similar technologies; and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. We disclose personal information to the following service providers, which process it on our behalf and under contractual obligations:

We may also disclose personal information: when required by law or legal process; to protect the rights, property or safety of Midstage, our users or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.

6. Cookies and Advertising Measurement

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain your session, analyze use of the Service, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. The Meta Pixel allows Meta to associate a visit or purchase on our Service with an advertisement you viewed on Meta’s platforms. You may control cookies through your browser settings and manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as you maintain an account or subscription, and thereafter for as long as reasonably necessary to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or de-identified form or deleted over time.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; request a copy of it in a portable format; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and opt out of marketing communications. To make a request, email support@midstage.ac. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

8.2 California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion and correction; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Our use of advertising measurement tools, such as the Meta Pixel, may constitute “sharing” under California law. To opt out, email support@midstage.ac with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share.” You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

8.3 EEA and UK residents. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International Transfers

We and our service providers process personal information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice, such as by email to active subscribers.
